| Creating a New Email
Account in Outlook Express 5 |
| It’s relatively simple to create a new
email account in Microsoft Outlook Express. Here is a step-by-step
tutorial on the process. |
1. Start Outlook Express
by double-clicking the Outlook Express icon on the Windows desktop.
2. Once Outlook Express starts click the “Tools”
menu at the top of the window and then click “Accounts” |
 |
| 3. Once the “Internet
Accounts” window opens click the “Add”
button at the top right hand side of the window and then
click “Mail…” |
 |
| 4. The first window that
appears asks you to enter a Display Name. This is the name that people
will see in the “From” field whenever
you send them an email. This can be anything you want. Once you enter
your Display Name click the “Next” button.
|
 |
| 5. In this window make sure
the dot is beside “I already have an email address that
I’d like to use.” Below that, enter your Dnet
email address in this format: username@dnet.net Then click the “Next”
button. |
 |
| 6. In this window you must make sure that
“My incoming mail server is a POP3 server” shows
at the top. Enter the email server names exactly as they appear in
the example below. Click the “Next” button. |
 |
| 7. Windows should automatically put your username
in the correct field. If it doesn’t just enter the first part
of your email address (everything before the “@” symbol.
You must then enter your password in the field below your username.
If you do not want to enter your password every time you check your
email you can check the “Save Password”
box. Click “Next” |
 |
| 8. You are finished creating your new email
account. Click “Finish” and from now
on Outlook Express will automatically check your email every time
you start it. |
